R.I.P.

Hi, there, and welcome to the Burnt Toast home page. We were a seven member ska-like band from Houston, Texas. We started some time around September of 1994 or so (it's all so hazy now...the drugs! Oh, the drugs!) Anyways, we don't sacrifice live animals (much), we don't have subliminal messages, and if you look stupid dancing to us, well, that's okay, because we look pretty goofy ourselves, and if all that isn't reason enough to see us, Mr. Music Snob, then maybe we don't want to see you, anyways. If you want to read the silly blurb I wrote about us on Bill Tanner's Texas ska page, go here. No, it's not any more informative, but what the heck? |
We play a big mixture of things that resemble ska, including quite a few covers. Gigs? We've done gigs!
Friday, January 27, 1995
at the Market Square Brew Pub. Opened for the Suspects.
Thursday, February 16, 1995
at the Abyss. Opened for the Suspects and the Pietasters from Virginia.
Saturday, March 18, 1995 somewheres about the
Lovett quad. Played with Pascuale-turned-Schrasj, also from Rice.
Friday, March 24, 1995
in the acabowl at Wiess. Played for Skank & Splank, a ska/funk party just because we're
loopy.
Friday, April 21, 1995 once again in the acabowl.
This time they called it ye olde Jamfest! Woohoo!
Friday, May 12, 1995 at the Market Square Brew Pub.
We played the KPFT Ska Benefit with the Suspects and the Mod Squad. Vince from Slaphappy joined
us on guitar and Hunter form the Suspects played trombone, because certain people were being bums.
Friday, May 19, 1995
at the Abyss. Another crazy ska/punkfest! U.T.A., Desorden, us, Secret Cajun Band
from St. Louis, and Slaphappy. Weehaa!
Saturday, November 4, 1995 at the Abyss. First one of the school year. Us, the Mod Squad, and the Grown-Ups from
Dallas.
Friday, December 8, 1995 at Lovett for the Handz-on Love Fest. Irie Time played, too.

Friday, March 22, 1996 in the Jones quad. Played for the Wild Thingz party.
Saturday, March 23, 1996, in the
Baker quad. Played for the Baker-Shake fest. A magician opened up. Don't ask.

Fitzgerald's with the Mod Squad and the Suspects. Our official last show.
